Two Years Later: Bicoastal and Much Closer to Free

When it's one day at a time it usually seems like not so much happens but over the course of a full year the changes add up. The interesting thing about planning major life changes is that they usually don't turn out quite as planned, too. I have rolled with the punches and come out far ahead, let's see it helped a lot to make a second transition from Encino to Northridge to escape the control freak I had inadvertently moved in with, because everytime I move I dump another load of useless crap. Moved into a huge place where I can do much more than previously with no control freak telling me I can't run an air conditioner etc. Fun people around, some drama and the cops show up from time to time but nobody's pulled out a gun yet.

Suddenly my father needs help and what looks like a simple situation becomes complicated by greedy relatives who it turns out have already stolen from him now want to gain the rest of his assets by being his legal guardian. A short court fight resolves in my favor but five days planned across the country turns into five months actual, until his situation could be made sufficiently stable to leave for a while. So now I am back where I started five months ago in one sense but far down the line in others. Laid off from work, a gift of time precipitated in part by my absence(though I was telecommuting anyway), suddenly enables me to proceed with my dreams and become free of place finally, at least in theory. Because right at the moment I am able to be mobile but I still have too much stuff in my life that needs to be dumped. But damn I am nearly there! Submitted a proposal to Virgin Galactic, developed a slideshow about the brain that has been well received, built a Meetup with the help of a very capable assistant and then co-organizer, developing Muses inspired by The Four Hour Workweek, progress continues. It's always slower than I'd like but then again it's the journey remember that always, not the destination that's so important. Usually anyway...
